“I just came to get what I came to get, and then I’m out the door.”

After releasing a handful of EPs starting in 2013, Brooklyn singer Justine Skye finally dropped her debut album ULTRAVIOLET back in January. One of the standout tracks from the LP is “Don’t Think About It,” which describes spending a night with someone with no strings attached. Produced by the West London trio TMS, the song has nearly 3 million Spotify streams, and its music video has over 1 million YouTube views.

“In this specific situation, it’s just fun,” Skye tells Genius “We not about to cuddle. We not about to do none of that. I just came to get what I came to get, and then I’m out the door.” Further elaborating on this type of night, she added, “Don’t assume anything, and then we’re good. When it comes to ‘situationships,’ or relationships I’m just like, ‘Whatever.’”

Justine Skye recently sat down with Genius for the latest episode of Verified and broke down the track. Watch her go line-for-line with “Don’t Think About It” in the video above, and check out past episodes, too.
